Spring break finally arrived and minds have traveled from schoolwork to vacation, sleep, or relaxation.
Before students let their minds wander, they should look at spring break as an opportunity to get caught up or ahead.
Of course no student wants to think about school on a break, but just imagine how easy the end of the quarter could be if the student takes one long plane or car ride, one day, and some half hour work periods to start the beginning of fourth quarter with nothing due.
For juniors, spring break is an opportunity to visit colleges. Use those visits as motivation to get ahead and get work done. Seeing the end goal up close can make the tedious assignments seem worth it.
Each student has at least one class they can get ahead in during spring break. Fairfax County gave the gift of a ten-day break. Use it wisely.
