The popstar Selena Gomez and her fiance, a music producer and Seahawk alum, Benny Blanco have been teasing their new project that will arrive on March 21. Their new album “I Said I Love You First” was announced on the couple’s Instagram’s accounts, on February 13. Their new first song “Scared of Loving You” is now out and is the first single of the album. Merchandise and signed products are also available to pre order. The two shared a lyric video to their new song that is getting fans excited to listen to their first album.

This announcement was a shock to many, since fans thought the singer was taking a break from music and pursuing other passions. Gomez wanted to focus on her acting career in her famous drama series “Only Murders in the Building”. She also owns a makeup brand called “Rare Beauty” designed to challenge the beauty myth of physical perfection. Gomez and Blanco recently got engaged. Gomez additionally has had an ongoing struggle with the autoimmune disease, Lupus. The last time Gomez released an album was in 2020 and the last time she performed on tour was in 2016 on her Revival Tour that was soon canceled due to her health issues. 

After only dating for around a year, Gomez and Blanco are recently engaged as of Wednesday, December 11th, 2024. Blanco and Gomez first met in 2015, when they collaborated together in the creation of Gomez’s songs “Kill Em with Kindness” and “Same Old Love,” and then again in 2019, when Selena, Blanco, Tainy and J Balvin released “I Can’t Get Enough.” Blanco additionally helped Gomez with the creation of her song “Single Soon.” In 2023, there were many posts and events hinting at the official announcement of their relationship, including Blancos attendance to Gomez’s Rare Beauty fundraising benefit, and Gomez’s instagram post promoting Blancos new cookbook, Open Wide. Finally, on December 7, 2023, Gomez officially announced their relationship in an Instagram post. Not long after, on December 10, Blanco did the same thing. Since then, they have been very publicly affectionate and supportive towards each other.
