Jingle Ball 2013
It’s that time of year again, where the celebrities’ people love and hate come down to Washington, D.C’s Verizon Center and put on Hot 99.5s annual Jingle Ball for the public.
This show is presented by www.overstock.com, sponsored by the non-profit Ryan Seacrest foundation. But this show isn’t just shown in only the nation’s capital, it’s also performed in Dallas, Philadelphia, Los Angeles, New York, Boston, Tampa and Miami.
A significant fact about the show is $1 of each ticket sold gets donated to the foundation, which is dedicated to help find ways to inspire today’s youth through entertainment and education focused activities.
This year’s show includes Miley Cyrus, Austin Mahone, Robin Thicke, Enrique Iglesias, Fall Out Boy, Paramore, Jason Derulo, Fifth Harmony, and Flo Rida.
Some people are more interested in what Miley Cyrus will perform. While others are wondering if she will twerk on Robin Thicke like she did at MTV’s Video Music Awards. Some wonder what Enrique Iglesias will perform or if Fifth Harmony will come to the stage all decked out in bows or if Flo Rida will have everybody get low with his smash hit Low from 2008.
One of our own South Lakes students will be attending the show, senior Georgia Corey. While paying for the tickets is one option, Corey called into Hot 99.5 during a contest give away and won them.
“Being that I haven’t been to many concerts, I wanted to go because it seemed like it would be a fun experience to watch different artists perform.” Corey said. “ I think it’ll be a really fun experience that I’ll remember.”
Corey is most excited to see Fall Out Boy perform.
With a wide range of artists and fans who love to see them in action, Jingle Ball should be an eventful show.
