The widely known PlayStation franchise is now officially going to recieve a fourth console, the PlayStation 4. It is said that it will release around the holidays of 2013. The new console is going to have a camera added to the console, like the Xbox Kinect, where you can play videogames based on movement.

New games will be released with the new console, such as Watchdogs, Diablo 3, and Infamous: The Second Son. Sony plans to release a whole new set of games to come along with the console release.

“I’m just going to wait until the price goes down,” freshman Louie Boyum said.

 The PlayStation 4 is rumored to be sold at $429 dollars for the base model and the premium is said to be sold for around $529 dollars.

Another benefit is the ability to play your games when downloading, whereas for the PlayStation 3, gamers had to wait for their content to download.

Additionally, players can incorporate a second screen to when they are playing. Apple and Android owners can also install a PlayStation 4 app to their phones to navigate through menus or broadcast their gaming experience. For example, Madden Football gamers can select plays on their phone.

Gamers can also continue their games they play on the new console with the PlayStation Vita, which is sold separately, so they won’t have to hit pause ever again.

The PlayStation 4 brings exciting new games, controllers and visuals, and will give gamers a more realistic and amazing display.
