The Fault in Our Stars to be released as a movie in June 2014

The Fault in Our Stars, a hit novel published in early 2012 by John Green, is set to become a movie in 2014.

The book, when first published, was an immediate hit with young adults as the story’s captivatingly “sick” love story took emotional twists and turns that left readers in tears.

Time Magazine titled it “damn near genius,” and SLJ described it as “An achingly beautiful story.”

The Fault in Our Stars is a brilliant work of fiction about Hazel Grace Lancaster, a young teenage girl battling lung cancer. She attends a cancer support group upon her mothers insistence, but is not particularly passionate about it until a peculiar, analytically charming boy named Augustus Waters appears at a session.

Hazel and Augustus bond over An Imperial Affliction, a book that Hazel idolizes and soon has Augustus pondering over its pages too. Almost as soon as their friendship forms, it turns into romance, but this newfound bliss is only so infinite as time allows.

The movie is set to be released June 6, 2014. During filming, John Green was on set and made video blogs chronicling his experience watching his book being brought to life on a movie screen.  The main cast includes Shailene Woodley as Hazel Grace Lancaster, Ansel Elgort as Augustus Waters, Nat Wolff as Isaac, and Willem Dafoe as Peter Van Houten.
